Universal Field Panel™ Expansion Modules

Add inputs, outputs and readers to a Universal Field Panel™ as the site grows.

UFP Expansion Modules scale a Universal Field Panel for high-density or distributed sites. The EM-8 and EM-16 add DESI channels, legacy supervised inputs, relays and reader ports under a single gateway, and the PM-4 power module reaches modules deployed away from it.

Grow input by input

Up to 16 modules sit under one gateway in any mix. The EM-16 adds 16 DESI channels for up to 64 DESI devices, 128 inputs or 64 relays, four serial ports and eight power relays. The EM-8 adds half of each. Both accept legacy supervised inputs where DESI is not yet installed.

Readers and relays included

Each module provides OSDP readers at four per serial port, or one legacy Wiegand reader per port, plus SPDT Form C power relays rated 10 A at 120 VAC. Supervision ranges cover 100 ohm to 50 kilohm loops, with OEM custom options from the factory.

Distributed when needed

The PM-4 power module takes 10 to 48 VDC and feeds 12 VDC at 4 A to modules deployed remotely from the gateway, over an RS-485 uplink at 1 Mbit/s to 100 m or 115 k to 2,000 ft. All modules share the gateway’s cryptography, standards and supply chain.

  • Up to 16 modules per gateway, any mix of EM-8 and EM-16
  • EM-16: 64 DESI, 128 inputs or 64 relays, four serial ports
  • EM-8: 32 DESI, 64 inputs or 32 relays, two serial ports
  • Legacy supervised inputs accepted in place of DESI
  • PM-4 power module for remote module deployment
