Field Services Technician

Position Summary

 The Field Services Technician’s responsibilities include installation, programming, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of IP-based physical access control (PACS), intrusion detection (IDS) and video surveillance (VMS) systems for high security applications within the DOD, DOE and other military installations. The individual must also possess advanced network communications and personal computer architecture and software experience. They will have strong leadership, organizational and communication skills, be goal oriented, ambitious, accept empowerment within boundaries, and desire to work within cross functional team environments. Ability to present a professional image and commitment to customer service are essential 

Responsibilities

• Serve as Site Lead Technician; oversee all service activities at a designated service location. Site lead works closely with the assigned project/program manager to achieve on-time, under budget project completion.

• Technical Trainer that provides system operator, administration, and maintenance familiarization training on various systems.

• Systems Engineering to ensure compliance with system design criteria and specific government/end-user security requirements.

• Field services technician to Perform implementation, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of system malfunctions.

• Create test documentation and perform Contractor Verification Testing (CVT) as well as Government Acceptance Testing (GAT) for system implementations.

• Coordinate with vendors to resolve 3rd party product issues encountered in the field.

• Lead and train coworkers and junior technicians

• Prepare and submit activity reports, including daily project reports to the Director of Services and the assigned project manager.

• Provide telephone technical support to internal technicians as well as customers, as needed.

• Perform a wide variety of tasks and change focus quickly as demands change

Preferred Qualifications and Credentials

• CompTIA Level I/II Certifications including:

  • Security plus Certification

  • Network plus certification

• Cisco CCNA, CCDP or other Computer networking and related control system software experience highly desired

• VICADS VMS or other video management systems’ programming & configuration

• Honeywell-Vindicator, LINX Predator Elite, ADVANTOR, LENEL or other IDS and access control certifications

• Strong working knowledge of government and industry standards for security systems

Other Minimum Qualifications

• Available for frequent travel (75%)

• Pass a drug screening and criminal/credit background investigation

• Able to obtain a US passport and ability to travel abroad

• Able to obtain a SECRET security clearance

• Demonstrated planning and organizational skills

• Effective written and verbal communication ability, in the English language

• Clean driving record with the ability to operate Company-owned and rental cars, vans and service vehicles

Education Requirements

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent, Associates Degree preferred

• Formal military or civilian, low voltage electrical and/or electronics training highly desired

• Minimum of 5 years of installation, programming and testing of physical security or physical access control systems.

Project Manager

Position Summary

The Project Manager provides direct oversight and control of system upgrade and security integration projects at client work locations. Plans, schedules, coordinates and executes security projects from initial requirements definition through project test, turnover and subsequent warranty support. Responsible for full project profit and loss results on project execution.

Responsibilities

• Participates in project site surveys, requirements definition and bid and proposal preparations
• Develops project schedules to include milestone establishment and staffing coordination
• Establishes budgets, track spending and implement cost controls to ensure financial goals are met or exceeded
• Develops statements of work and subcontracts for needed support services
• Manages procurement timing to maximize cash flow and minimize materials carrying costs
• Coordinates for and allocates company resources efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize conflict with other simultaneous projects
• Provides regular project status reports for management review
• Reviews and approves labor, material and other direct cost expenditures
• Ensures all installation, training, test and turnover milestones are successful and meet schedule
• Acts as focal point for all direct interaction with client at project location
• Drafts and forwards all project-related correspondence
• Participates in all site kick-off, progress review, and test and turnover meetings
• Arranges and facilitates meetings with internal and external organizations
• Validates invoicing and follows up with clients as needed
• Ensures compliance with all applicable code, manufacturer, industry and Company installation and safety standards

• Demonstrated experience organizing and managing large-scale Electronic Security System projects to profitably and to schedule
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to prioritize work, act decisively, and complete tasks under time constraints

Competencies and Abilities

• Strong computer skills and a proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project; must be able to learn new applications quickly.
• Must be task-oriented, self-motivated, and possess the inherent ability to multitask, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work as a team member as well as a team lead.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
• Attention to detail

Education Requirements

• 7+ years of demonstrated successful performance implementing electronic security systems in government facilities
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related technical field preferred
• PMP certification desired

Security Clearance

• Able to obtain a SECRET and/or TOP SECRET security clearance

Travel Required

• Available to travel up to 25%
